Hoje pela manhã foram divulgados por Jonathan Groff e Lucy Liu os nomes das peças e musicais em cartaz na Broadway que concorrerão ao “Oscar” do meio teatral – o Tony Awards. Neste ano, entre os musicais, o espetáculo “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder“, é o líder com 10 indicações ao prêmio. A comédia musical conta a história de Monty Navarro, que descobre ser o nono na linhagem de sucessão para assumir o Ducado de D’Ysquith e as posses da família. Para alcançar esse objetivo, Navarro resolve “eliminar” os oitos concorrentes ao título nobre. Outro destaque entre os nomeados é “Hedwig and the Angry Inch“, estrelado por Neil Patrick Harris, indicado na categoria de Melhor Ator em um Musical. Muitos favoritos do público também ficaram de fora neste ano, como “If/Then“, que tem Idina Menzel como protagonista de trilha composta pela dupla Bryan Yorkey e Tom Kitt (Next to Normal). O tão celebrado revival de “Cabaret” tem duas indicações – Melhor Ator e Atriz Coadjuvantes.
